This is a 10-point strategic assault by the Japanese against the Russians, in what is technically before the start of WW2. It was a border dispute initially, and the Japanese attacked. The Russians defended and beat them back. This scenario resulted in a change of history, as the Japanese won it decisively, primarily because they took out the "Big Tom" Artillery early in the game with a single Barrage. Once that happened, there was little hope of defending all of the Russian Infantry up on the ridge in the center section. The Russians have a lot of Armor on the left flank, but sadly, the cards provided no attack cards for that section. This allowed the formidable Japanese Infantry to move forward and attack with full Seishin Kyoiku Doctrine strength, and take out some units. Finally, the undefended Russian Infantry (due to the lost Artillery), were surrounded by the Japanese Armor through an Armor Attack card. The very mobile Japanese Tankettes came in from behind, assisted by the other Japanese Armor from the front, and wiped them out. The Japanese were able to take both ridges which contained Objective Medals, and finished off the game. Followup: Have played this scenario two more times, and both times, history was restored, as the Russians won the next two rounds. The significant factor in both games, is exactly what transpired in history, as General Zhukov was able to mobilize his Armor, and take out many Japanese units on the left flank. And in one of the rounds, the Russians were actually able to completely chase the Japanese out of the entire region west of the Halha River, winning an additional Objective Medal.

Upload Files:Add another file ...Maximum files: 2 · Maximum file size: 6 MB · Allowed file types: jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp, pdf, webp, heicCancel Please leave this field empty Don’t miss out on Memoir 44 tips and news!
