Actual Score vs. 'True Score'

Quote from wtm2 on 2025-03-02, 14:22When you are playing Memoir 44, sometimes the visible score is not the real score. So how do you determine how you really stand in your battle?
Here are six factors to help you really understand your strength:
Troops: The enemy's troops are weak:
1. Infantry at 2 figures or less
2. Armor with only 1 figure
So, if your enemy has numerous troops that are weak, that means that you may be able to make some quick kills in the next couple of turns.
Terrain Factors: The Terrain is working in your favor
1. Enemy cannot get to any of your weak units
2. You have positional control
So, if the enemy cannot get to your weak units, because you have control of the field, then you will have the time you need to attack the weak enemy.
Cards: Your cards are powerful
1. Powerful cards you contain that are almost certain of a kill (BEL, Barrage, TFH, )
2. Quantity of Cards vs. your Opponent
So finally, if you have the cards, especally Behind Enemy Lines, Barrage, or Their Finest Hour, you are likely to get another medal. Also, if you are in a scenario, where your have six cards, and your opponent has only 4 or 5, this automatically puts you in a position of power because it improves your responsiveness compared to your opponent.
All this to say, do not lose hope. Things may be better than they seem! The score is about to swing your way.
