On my very first turn for Utah Beach, I had zero actionable cards, except for BEL. So I did this:
And with a result like that, I gained my first medal with a single roll!

I agree with the use of this card, but there is still a risk of ambush or counterattack! Although the counterattack would not be useful for the US side at that time. Unless you reverse the enemy fire on this unit close to an exit after its movement. Making the US assault less bloody for these units on the beach for at least one turn. It would still be a strong risk for the US to offer a new medal to the Axis. So, finally General Howitzer I agree with your order to play this card.

You are right. An Ambush card would’ve probably ended it.
Fortunately for me, it was early enough in the game, turn one, that he did not yet have that card.
