NEW VERSION OF MEMOIR 44 RELEASED!
They are calling this a “Refresh”. It is basically like the original version, but has some updated rules pertaining to: Terrain Elevation Line-of-Sight; Air Superiority, & options for 3 & 4 player games.
I have written a couple of articles about it. You can find them in the Forum, under the "Memoir 44 Base Game" section.

Visible Score vs. Real Score
When you are playing Memoir 44, sometimes the visible score is not the "real score". So how do you determine how you really stand in your battle?
[ Take a look at Pic1 below to see an example of this in the Battle of Warsaw. The Allies are badly outnumbered, but it is not as bleak as it may appear, if you can read the Real Score.]
Here are six factors to help you really understand your strength:
Troops: The enemy's troops are weak:
1. Infantry at 2 figures or less
2. Armor with only 1 figure
So, if your enemy has numerous troops that are weak, that means that you may be able to make some quick kills in the next couple of turns.
Terrain Factors: The Terrain is working in your favor
3. Enemy cannot get to any of your weak units
4. You have positional control
So, if the enemy cannot get to your weak units, because you have control of the field, then you will have the time you need to attack the weak enemy.
Cards: Your cards are powerful
5. Powerful cards you contain that are almost certain of a kill (BEL, Barrage, TFH, )
6. Quantity of Cards vs. your Opponent
So finally, if you have the cards, especially Behind Enemy Lines, Barrage, or Their Finest Hour, you are likely to get another medal. Also, if you are in a scenario, where your have six cards, and your opponent has only 4 or 5, this automatically puts you in a position of power because it improves your responsiveness compared to your opponent.
All this to say, do not lose hope. Things may be better than they seem! The score is about to swing your way.

Historical Lessons from General Howitzer
The German Blitzkreig Model for Warfare
Heinz Guderian, the famed German tank commander, carefully crafted a military strategy where tanks were at the center of battle. Guderian envisioned armored columns leading spearheads of an army, backed with air power, and followed by infantry units left to clean up any remaining resistance. This combined arms approach became the Blitzkrieg strategy used by the Germans throughout most of World War II. The mobility of the German tank units, and their ability to react quickly to changes in the strategic or tactical situation contributed to the German successes early in the war.
What we have found with Memoir 44 attack strategy is that, like Blitzkreig, you are often quite helped by combining all of your forces in an offensive strategy. And by this, we do not mean a single tactical attack, but a multi-move offensive strategy that makes plans to completely dominate a section of the battlefield, using Infantry, Armor, and Artillery.
In order to do this, you must make sure that your tanks do not outpace your infantry. Keep the Infantry nearby to make attacks against defensive positions like forests and towns. And of course, use any Artillery to their fullest advantage.
The order is typically to first, soften the enemy with Airpower and Artillery.
Then bring in Armor or long-distance attacks like Firefight.
Finally, followup with the Infantry to win!
So you must combine forces and also of course collect the cards you need to maintain the attack. That is the way to conduct a Memoir 44 blitzkreig attack.

Capture of Asosa
Listen up—this is how wars are won. In March of ’41, a hard-fighting outfit from the Belgian Congo—the 11th Battalion of the Force Publique—marched into Abyssinia to take the fight straight to the Italians. No hesitation, no excuses. They clawed their way up the brutal high ground of Mount Kirin, took their hits in ambushes near Asosa and Megale, and …

Easy Company - Paradrop in the Night

They dropped our boys all over hell and back—but that didn’t stop them. The 506th Parachute Infantry hit the Normandy bocage scattered, disorganized, and under fire. But Americans don’t wait for perfect conditions—we make them. Lieutenant Richard Winters pulled together what he had—35 men—and went looking for the fight. Through hedgerows thick as walls and Germans lurking in every field, …
