The Power of a General Advance

Things can change very quickly with a General Advance card.

Here is a situation I encountered on Utah Beach:

Utah Beach, General Advance

Note that I am behind on VP's.

But after the General Advance card, things have changed dramatically, and I end up ahead 3 -1 !

Utah Beach, result

What really helped with this is the fact that he had several very weak units, of only 1 or 2 figures.

This is a situation that is perfect for a General Advance card.

So the VP score is not always an accurate reflection of reality. If his forces are weak, things can change quickly.  For short scenarios like this of only 5 VP's, this can be a critical change in fortunes.

For beach scenarios, it is typical for the Allies to get hit hard at the beginning, as they are coming out of the water. But then once they establish a beachhead, they usually recover fairly quickly.  But this turn was dramatic. It is not very often, you can win three VP's in a single turn. But again, that is the power of General Advance.
