The Great Value of Breakthrough Cards
Memoir 44 Breakthrough games come with their own set of cards.
Because Breakthrough boards are so large, there are a lot of things happening.
But Breakthrough cards make up for this by allowing Attack + Movement on a single card.
This is a great ability.
Many times, if you have engaged in a battle, your forces are depleted, and you need to execute a strategic retreat. Of course, in a normal game with regular cards, you must choose to either retreat or attack. But with Breakthrough cards, you can execute a strategic retreat on one set of your forces, using the Movement option, and then still execute an attack using the other function of the card.
It is the best of both worlds. Like a seasoned General, you can tell some of your troops to pull back, while telling other forces to Attack, Attack, Attack!
