Strategy vs. Tactics

Quote

Strategy is the overarching plan that defines long-term goals, the direction to achieve them, and the allocation of resources on a broad scale—essentially answering what you want to accomplish and why.

Tactics, on the other hand, are the specific actions, methods, and maneuvers used to implement the strategy, focusing on how to achieve those goals in the short term.

For example, in World War II, the Allies’ strategy for D-Day was to establish a secure foothold in Normandy to open a Western Front against Germany. A tactic within that strategy was the British glider assault on Pegasus Bridge, which used surprise and speed to seize a key crossing before German forces could destroy it or mount a counterattack.
