I've played the new version. Here is what I noticed as new:

1. Beautiful color changes and hard plastic pieces. You can now clearly tell the Axis from the Allies. The pieces are made of a solid hard shiny plastic and do not feel cheap anymore.

2. Movement/ Attack tokens (heave plastic, but probably a bit too big, but very nice nonetheless)

3. Large curved card holder stands. Not easily tippy like the old small ones.

4. Beautiful, artistic cardboard storage boxes for each of the two sides, with nice separators for Infantry, Armor, Axis, and neutral pieces.

5. The neutral pieces (sandbags, hedgehogs) are now light gray to clearly show they could be used by either side.

6. A separate "Scenarios" book.

7. Five new scenarios! And a campaign plan for them. Very cool!

8. Artistic changes to the cards and dice.
