Push 'em Back, Way Back!

Quote

Here is a great illustration of two players who are well-balanced, and yet, each has either the advantages or disadvantages of the historical position playing against them.

Note that both sides have lost no units yet.  Although there have been a few figures lost, overall, the firepower which each side has, is nearly the same as at the start of the game.

And yet, note that the Axis have been pushed back. They have lost their forward infantry position at d6.  Their sandbags have been lost to the armored attack from the forest hexes. Their armor has been pushed back into forest and town hexes.  And two of their Infantry units have each retreated to defend the Medal Objective hexes in the city of Caen.

And yet, no one has lost a complete unit yet.

The lesson is this: each commander is subject to the historical realities which have been built into the game, to the extend that they represent what actually happened.

In this scenario, historically, the Allies did drive the Axis back. So this current situation between the two sides is a perfectly accurate representation of the disadvantages the Axis faced.

Who will win?  That remains to be seen, based on, as usual the cards, the dice, and most importantly the wits of each commander!
