Marks of a Great Memoir 44 Commander

Quote from GeneralHowitzer on 2025-06-25, 21:08I recently played in a M44 tournament in Chicago, "The Finest Open".
I had a chance to observe some top-notch players up close.
Here are some qualities of the great players which I noticed:
1. They completely understand the victory conditions.
That is, they know exactly how many medals they need, and if there are some special achievement medals as well, they fully know where they are and how to get to them.
2. They fully know the special abilities of all their troops, special forces, engineers, SWA's like mortars, machine guns, anti-tank weapons (early and late war models, and the differences between them).
They know the best place and conditions for the use of each weapon. Just like a real general, they understand the capacity and abilities of their forces.
3. They are cautious and rarely put their troops into a position where more than one unit can hit them at a time. This was perhaps the most surprising thing to me. They are not generally bold and audacious, until the conditions prove most likely for a successful attack. Then they are quite aggressive.
So I learned a lot by looking at some of the top players in the country and the world.
Watch out next time we play! 🙂
