Here is a situation where the two forces are reversed in their locations.

Axis is down south on the hill, and Allies are up north in the city.

How did this happen?  Behind Enemy Lines, followed by a Counter-Attack that also did BEL.

So each side wiped out a unit, and then stayed on that end of the battlefield.
