Was recently playing the Battle of Warsaw scenario, and was lamenting the terrible shape of my troops.
If you see, all four of my selected infantry are practically dead, possessing only 1 or 2 figures each.
But the beauty of M44 tactics is that, a single infantry figure can roll as many dice as a full unit. A bullet is still a bullet after all. So I gather all four of the Infantry and surround this full-force enemy unit. The potential number of dice I could be rolling is 9 ( 1,2,3,3). It only took the first three units rolling (1,2,3) dice respectively to finish off the full-four figure enemy Infantry.
So, moral of the story, is that your infantry units may be down, but they are not out! If the opportunity presents itself, there is no need to always hide the weak infantry. Like any good soldier, they should be ready to jump and attack in a moment's notice.
