Attack Strategies: Swarming vs. Plinking

Quote from GeneralHowitzer on 2025-05-17, 18:29Your cards and the terrain will help you to decide which is the best strategy.
In some scenarios, you will have a large collection of Infantry in one section, and you will be blessed with an Infantry Assault, a Move-Out!, or other such cards, and be able to move large chunks of your forces (meaning 3 or more Infantry units at once ) into close proximity to the enemy.
These are always fun attacks, and this is 'swarming'.
But some scenarios, notably hedgerow scenarios, require patience and 'plinking'. That is, you bring your forces to bear, typically Armor and Artillery, and occasionally Infantry at three hexes away, and you shoot at the enemy just 1D at a time; plink, plink, plink. But you slowly make a dent in the enemy forces, until you are ready for the overwhelm attack. This version of attack requires patience, as the tendency is to not wait until the enemy has been sufficiently degraded. Remember, just because you have an attack card, does not mean you have to attack, if you are not ready. Wait until the infantry in the hedgerows is down to at least two figures.
Choose your strategy: swarm or plink. It is your call Commander!
