Summary:

In this scenario, the Allies are surrounded by Axis forces. Two escape hexes are provided, but movement and visibility for both sides are hampered by winter weather conditions. The addition of mobile artillery and tank destroyers adds some interesting tactics to the battle.

Allied Strategy:

1. Allies need to move rapidly towards the exit hexes before Axis is able to mobilize their forces. Because the Allied forces are bunched up in the center, you will want to disperse and spread out your forces quickly in all directions to expand your fighting capabilities. You will quickly run out of center section cards if you do not move your troops into the left and right flanks.

2. In this scenario, the rules specify that only grenades hit at a distance, so take advantage of your superior numbers in the center by moving right next to the enemy and doing as many close assault attacks as you can. This will increase your odds of deadly hits.

Axis Strategy:

1. Axis will need to quickly move to block the two exits so that you can contain the Allied forces in the center.

2. The mobile artillery can be used to great effect by moving in closer to the enemy every turn before firing. In no time you will be hitting him with two and then three dice rolls to destroy him.

3. The mountains are impassable, so protect the roads, to slow down the enemy movement.
